In this interview, Eric Bosworth, President and CEO of Insurance Elevated, shares how he’s reshaping the insurance industry through resilience, innovation, and a people-centered approach, while empowering agents and leaving a lasting impact.

Insurance Elevated has experienced significant growth since its founding. Could you walk us through that journey and highlight the accomplishments that stand out to you?

The growth of Insurance Elevated has been incredible. What started with a small, dedicated team has grown into a thriving agency of over 700 professionals, with operations in Tampa, Orlando, and Overland Park, Kansas. However, what stands out most to me is our agent-centered model. From the start, we’ve given agents full ownership of their book of business, which is rare in this industry. This autonomy builds confidence, fosters accountability, and enhances client experience.

What makes Insurance Elevated stand out in a competitive industry, and how do your innovations benefit both agents and clients?

Our approach is fundamentally different from traditional agencies. What sets us apart is the freedom we give our agents—owning their book of business means they control their future. This creates a culture of growth and pride. We’re not just training agents to sell; we’re helping them build their own businesses. This approach benefits clients too, as it leads to more personalized service. We’ve also invested heavily in CRM technology, which streamlines operations and enhances customer engagement, allowing agents to focus on relationships rather than admin tasks. It’s a win-win for both agents and clients.

You’ve faced significant adversity on your journey. How have those experiences shaped your leadership style, and how do you apply those lessons to your business?

I grew up in Haines City, Florida, and faced many challenges early on. I built and lost everything in my first ventures—a barbershop and a clothing store—but those experiences taught me resilience. Leading through adversity is where true leadership is tested. That’s the mindset I bring to Insurance Elevated. I teach my agents that setbacks aren’t failures; they’re opportunities to grow. This philosophy has become the cornerstone of our company culture. We encourage resilience, learning, and constant improvement every day.

The insurance industry is rapidly changing. How is Insurance Elevated positioned to lead this transformation?

The industry is evolving, and clients expect more flexibility, transparency, and service. At Insurance Elevated, we’re meeting those demands by offering a diverse range of products, from health insurance to cash accumulation strategies. But it’s not just about the products; it’s how we deliver them. We focus on building long-term relationships with clients, ensuring they receive personalized care. Technology plays a crucial role as well, with our CRM systems making operations more efficient. We’re positioning ourselves as a forward-thinking agency that anticipates industry changes and leads with innovation.

You’re a strong advocate for mentorship. What advice would you give to aspiring entrepreneurs, especially those entering the insurance industry?

My advice is to embrace resilience and stay focused on your long-term vision. The journey won’t always be smooth, but challenges are part of the process. You have to learn from each one and keep moving forward. Mentorship has been key to my own success, and I’m passionate about helping others, especially young people, find their path. At Insurance Elevated, we emphasize personal and professional growth. We’re not just helping agents sell policies; we’re developing leaders. My message to entrepreneurs is: don’t just chase success, chase purpose. When you focus on adding value to people’s lives, success will follow. And never underestimate the power of mentorship—it can make all the difference.
