Brenda Ascencio was born in California and raised in Nebraska, she has been living in Florida for the past 17 years. She is a proud Latinx woman and a small business owner of Lavish Backdrops LLC. She works in the event management industry and enjoys her line of work as she feels rewarded when seeing her customers happy.
Lavish Backdrops is a company that provides high-quality silk flower backdrops and now offers personalized ones to make the occasion more special. It is a gorgeous statement piece that adds to any event as well as serves as the perfect Instagram photo stop.

Brenda got the idea to start this business when she was a bride and was searching for the perfect backdrop to be able to create memorable photos for her bridal shower. After searching, she found one she absolutely loved and immediately knew she wanted to start her own business that could provide backdrops so that everyone could experience pretty photo opportunities when attending events.
One of the most effective business strategies she used while building her brand was networking and being able to exceed her customer’s expectations through her designs.
Brenda started her business by offering outdoor setups at first, but it soon became hazardous and didn’t work well with indoor events. This is when she realized that she had to shift her products to be able to work indoors to prevent any hazardous encounters to be able to ensure her customer’s safety and protection of the products.
One of the biggest risks that Brenda took while starting her business was having to invest from her own personal savings that she had worked hard to get. The outcome was successful, to say the least, and the business has constantly been growing.

Before starting any business, it’s difficult to know what to expect and what you need before you start. Brenda says she wished she had not tried to do everything independently and asked for help when she needed it. But now, after becoming more experienced, she hired skilled professionals that can help her reach her final goal of growing her business.
She is extremely grateful to her supporters and customers, but most importantly, she would give her credit to her family for supporting her and encouraging her to step out of her comfort zone.
