Whether you live in the Orlando area or are just passing through, be sure to check out The House on Lang– voted ‘Best Local Women’s Clothing Store’ by Orlando Weekly. They have a selection where most people find a whole new wardrobe or their new favorite shoes. However, women’s clothing isn’t all; they also have a men’s section, a vintage room, and home goods or artwork available throughout the store. The artwork is carefully crafted by co-owner Christine Edwards or other local artists.

Christine opened the shop with co-founder and recent mother-in-law Julie Edwards. Julie has an extensive background in marketing- working for both the Walt Disney Company and also as the Chief Marketing Officer for Florida’s first higher-speed train-Brightline. Christine was a studio art and creative writing student at Florida State University and went on to manage another local boutique in the Orlando area. They both had a dream to bring fashion, art, and people together. Therefore, they created a space where they could cultivate all of their passions and ideas into one.

Aside from the retail space, The House on Lang is a pillar in the local business community. They host a variety of events (of which you can check their website to attend), including food truck nights, “collective corner”, movie night, or even their very own fashion show. For clarity, “Collective Corner” is an event where local small businesses “pop up” at The House on Lang. These pop-ups include jewelry crafters, handmade clothing designers, vintage booths, and artwork, amongst other things. They also host a variety of workshops where people in the community can learn new skills such as calligraphy, floral arranging, painting, and more!

If you’re looking for a more relaxed activity, they have a regular book club that they encourage everyone to attend, mimosas and goat yoga, or cookie decorating. Otherwise, they have a cozy outdoor space where they invite people to come to hang out with friends or enjoy live music.

The outdoor space (as well as the inside of the shop) is available to reserve for private parties and events. Which recently included a wedding!

If you’re looking for a space to meet others in the community, showcase your local business, or want to be a part of an inclusive, eclectic, and shopping-friendly environment, this is the one!
